Radiation effects, both ionizing and non-ionizing, are critical factors influencing the reliability of equipment and systems in space. Beyond aerospace, radiation testing is increasingly essential for fields such as avionics, high-energy physics, automotive, nuclear industries, and more. Radiation exposure can degrade electronic, electrical, and electromechanical (EEE) components, leading to malfunctions or even complete failure. These effects depend on various factors, including radiation type (e.g., gamma, heavy ions, protons), device technology, manufacturing lot, and operational conditions.

ALTER offers industry-leading in-house radiation testing services, covering all aspects from sample preparation to test reporting.

Our key testing services include

  • Modeling and evaluating space radiation environments.
  • Conducting radiation analysis at the component level.
  • Performing shielding calculations.
  • Developing radiation test procedures and plans.
  • Comprehensive radiation testing (sample preparation, programming, and board development).
  • Predicting in-orbit SEU and error rates.
  • Supporting radiation risk mitigation strategies.
